Make these yummy snacks from scratch! These graham crackers are healthy and more fun than regular rectangles. As an added bonus, they don’t have any of the preservatives found in the store-bought versions (which you can kiss goodbye). This recipe is also a great way to introduce the kiddos to the basics of baking.

What you’ll need:

  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • food coloring (optional)

Directions:

  1. Beat butter, sugars and honey until smooth in a mixer or large bowl.  Set aside.
  2. In another bowl mix dry ingredients.
  3. Add butter mix and beat until blended.
  4. If making colored graham crackers, add food coloring and mix thoroughly.
  5. Divide dough in half. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  6. Roll out to 1/4″ thickness.
  7. Cut out shapes.
  8. Add to cookie sheets.
  9. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 13-18 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Enjoy!
